Publisher of Baker's Texas Handbook Series:
comprehensive and portable annotated codes for
Texas criminal and family law since 1981
and on the web since 1999

For over 30 years I have had the pleasure of writing and publishing Baker's Texas Handbooks. What started as an experiment in self-publishing with an Apple II+ "home computer" in 1981 turned into a lasting enterprise. For the enduring success of this venture I am grateful to everyone who has used these books. I have been blessed by these many years of producing these books and serving a portion of the Texas legal profession.

Over the past few months I have experienced changes in my personal and family life that have prompted me to pause and reflect on the current needs in my life and what they mean for the future. I feel the time has come for me to retire from this enterprise. As a result, I will not produce a new edition of Baker's Texas Handbooks and after the few remaining copies of the current edition have been sold I plan to close down the business.

I do not plan to close down the web site, although I will not be updating it with new material. It will remain online as an archival resource for case notes from published decisions of the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals issued from November 1998 through June 2013.

Thank you all for the many years of support. I wish each of you the very best.
